Awesome August Finds!

Hello fellow bloggers and blog followers! I feel like it's been forever since I've been on here! But really, almost a month. I have been so busy! In a good way though. I have been up to my elbows in paints, stains, waxes, ect. You will hear about that soon! But for now, here are some finds from the last two weeks or so! Once again, I went a little nuts with the pictures... Just can't help myself when I get a camera in my hands!
I figured I should start out with the awesome "I <3 Roslyn" wine stopper that I got at Higglebottom's during the Roslyn Sunday Market, since I do love Roslyn! A deal at $6! For people not in my area, Roslyn is the tiny hippie town connected to Cle Elum, where I live.

Next up is my newest art addition to my craft room! My friend I met at the holiday craft fairs, Jennifer, runs a great booth at the Roslyn Market called Buddy's Tail. My other post on my craft room has another piece from her of an owl; I love her work! This one is an image transfer from an old medical textbook, and her daughter also drew on the back, so, extra awesome! This rad piece of art only set me back $20! Jennifer makes all her stuff from reclaimed wood and other salvaged items, you should see her metal painted signs!!!

Lately, I have become totally obsessed with colored glass. Especially vintage yellow glass, can you tell? I have been gradually switching my dishes out with ones that I will want to tumble and make into jewelry when I eventually break them. That lovely pitcher I got from the Ellensburg Goodwill for $2.50, along with the two handled cups for $1 each, from their glass case at 50% off! I find great stuff in that case, and it is often half off! I don't think people really notice the case since it's no where near the other glass stuff. The awesome glass plates and the two glasses without handles I got from the St. Vincent Center for $1 each!!! I love that place!
Okay, so if you know me personally, you may know that I have an obsession with collecting coffee cups. I got some new ones recently, but I figured I may as well show you guys most of my collection all at once rather than just the newbies. The top left picture first has my mug from my favorite breakfast place back home in Vista, CA. When the owner found out I was moving to WA, he gave me that HUGE Sunrise Cafe mug so I wouldn't forget them. Aw :) Next is my mug from when I was managing Attic Treasures Thrift Store; I kinda have a thing for mugs in that style as you can probably see! I got the next mug from there too, since it reminded me of my time in London. I really couldn't say where the other ones were from, I get them from lots of local shops and thrift stores.

Here are a few more from my collection! On the left side, first I have an adorable mushroom mug that I got for $5 from Crazy Horse. Then I have probably my favorite mug in the world next to that! My "I Love My Willy" mug I got when I saw the Reduced Shakespeare Company's "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare Abridged" in London about 10 years ago. I laughed so hard in that show, my face hurt for days! Next to that is my white milk glass mug. I don't know what it is about milk glass, but I love it! Then in the top right photo, first you have a Snoqualmie Falls mug. Next to that, a vintage Seattle World's Fair mug that I got on sale for $1 at Tuckaway Antiques. I really like collecting local stuff, since I know one day I will be leaving this little town! The third mug I got from Higglebottoms for $3, and it is a favorite! I call her "Jackie", and anyone who watches That 70's Show will know why! The last photo in the bottom right corner has some more random mugs I have collected, and in front a mug my Maid-of-Honor, Rena, made me for my birthday one year.
I keep the cup from my friend, Rena, along with a yellow glass cup and a jar on this ledge to keep all the evidence of our moral vices handy for future craft projects! Yay! That mug has been so many things; planter, pen holder, change catcher, and now holding bottle caps. It has been prominently featured in my home since the day she gave it to me <3

I actually got a set of six of these beauties for $2 each from the Ellensburg Goodwill, but the others are in use right now. I really needed some small glasses for water and cocktails, so I was pretty stoked to find a set I absolutely love for only $12! This is another one I found tucked away in their glass case!

Another Goodwill find! I was really excited to find this blue Pyrex dish for $4, especially since I use these things like crazy! Pretty, huh??
This was also from Goodwill, half off of $3.49! Way too cute to pass up!

Okay, these 3 little orange Fire King bowls I was seriously excited about! Orange is my favorite color in the world and I love anything Fire Kind or Pyrex! I got these perfect bowls from St. Vincent for only $1 each!!! I am looking for more from this set for a good price.

I have been looking for little corked bottles like this lately to fill with glass of all different colors. This one I got for $1.49 from St. Vincent. I love the look of corked bottles full of tumbled glass!

I bought this oil and liquor bottle together from St. Vincent for only $4 each. Unfortunately my kitty, Mollybear, flipped out when I locked her in my craft room before getting spayed and knocked my camera off my desk into a bowl of water, and then she knocked the liquor bottle on top of that breaking the bottle and the water bowl. Plus, totally soaked my camera. So, I wasn't really planning on tumbling that anytime soon, but I guess now you should expect some new jewelry to come from my lovely bottle... The oil bottle is an old Avon bottle with a little bowl. I love the Avon imprint on it! Then you can see the imprint on the liquor bottle. It says "Liquor Bottle." Who would have thought?
I got this little guy for $1.49 from St. Vincent too! I love little trinkets like this that I can arrange all around my craft room and grab at any time to use as a photo prop!
These were from St. Vincent too, for only $1 each! They are all brand new too! They look so happy in my kitchen next to my copper fruit basket!

Remember this little lady from my last post? Yeah, I had to go back to Crazy Horse and buy it! $10 well spent :)

Next, let me show you something I'm very excited about! I just picked up four of these rad and HUGE burlap coffee bags from Pioneer Coffee for $2 each. They are about the size of my kitchen table, so that's a pretty big bag! They always have these there, and they are mostly all different! You will be seeing these soon when I'm done with my current project! This one is blank on the back.

Here is the front and back of this one. I love both sides so much!!
Here is the front and back of this one too. I was telling my husband earlier that alot of people stencil stuff just like what is already on here to make is look more unique and authentic, but you can't beat something that already comes unique and authentic!
This one only has the green stripe on the back. I love the big "Seattle" stenciled on there!

Here are the records we bought this week. We maybe went a little overboard... I got The 5th Dimension for $6, Janis Joplin for $2, The Best of the Animals for $3, and Elton John's "Don't Shoot Me, I'm Only the Piano Player" for $10 at Tuckaway Antiques. Then we got Elton John's "Honky Chateau" for $10 at Crazy Horse. This past Sunday, we found Jefferson Airplane's "Surrealistic Pillow" for $12 and Led Zeppelin IV for $25 at Relics in Ellensburg. All in all, that's a damn good week in record finds!

Most of these will end up on this wall here, but the good playable ones will stay in their cases. I like to put Justin's albums on his side and mine more on mine so it is a similar but different style. My hubby is handing me a bowl in our new bong, too! We just got it since I broke my birthday bong :'(  Btw, in case you aren't aware, Washington is one of the two states where Marijuana is now legal! Lucky us!

Oh, and I randomly pulled this off a poster at the Farm & Home bulletin board... I wish my camera was with me so I could have shown the poster, it was pretty funny. The site is worth a look, in case you are worried about the vast dangers of garden gnomes :)
Well guys, that is it for right now! Thank you for stopping by and putting up with my rambles! See you soon with my latest project that I've been working on non stop!!!
